Oh rainy days!

Since working outdoors was difficult this weekend, I revisited some images I have gathering gigadust...

We took a day trip to New Orleans a few Saturdays ago and thought I would share! Some are my photos, some belong to my hubby Thomas.

Some day I hope to photograph an engagement shoot or wedding in New Orleans - that city speaks to my soul!

We dodged a bullet...or did we?

The big scare (besides the economy or hurricanes) this year was the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill...

Luckily the actual physical impact of the oil was minimal on our beaches. However, the lack of tourism in the area hurt many local businesses.

NOW is the perfect time to come to the beach! The water is as beautiful as ever, it's not too crowded ;) and you sure can grab a deal on a condo!

Life here is good.

I don't have any scientfic information to share, but today was HOT! And the water was perfect!

Creative documentation of Northwest Florida was the plan today. We wanted to travel to Rosemary Beach for their West Indies Market.

Much to our dismay, Thomas was called away to don his superman outfit to save a few families boiling in the Florida heat (shout out to Gulf Shore Air Conditioning!)

With our plans thwarted, I made it to one of our favorite local spots - The Crab Trap in Destin.

I wanted to photograph our beaches. Our OIL free beaches! I also wanted to try something different. With my camera strap around my neck, my camera hung at my waist. My mind wandered to my friend Kim Fitzsimmons that "shot from the hip" while walking around Guadalajara, Mexico. She captured some really amazing images and wasn't even looking through the lens. I decided to give it a try.

Some of them didn't turn out - and sometimes I lifted my camera up - but never looked through the lens.

They sure were fun to look at and I had even more fun editing them.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look!

See you at the beach!
